KNOWN LANGUAGES: English ABILITIES: Patricia had no powers, but when Violet was killed she used her ability of mediumship to posses her sister. Now, though Violet keeps control most of the time, they can both see and interact with ghosts, and occasionlly Violent lets them possess her to talk to their family or friends, but her price is very high so it doesn't happen often.
story involvement
AFFILIATION: herself FIRST SCENE: tbd BACKGROUND: The twin girls born to a very young prostitute mother and eventually adopted by Angelia Veradi, a single mother who had recently inherited a grand sum of money and feared she would never marry. They grew up in Boston, their childhood relatively normal until Violet began to show signs of emotional distress at the age of eight. To their mother it appeared as if the girl was going crazy, but she confided to her sister, Patricia, that she was seeing ghosts. Patricia, the golden child who had never done anything wrong refused to believe Violet and allowed their mother to send her to a mental institution.
Violet spent most of her teenage years at the asylum and eventually learned to pretend the ghosts were not there, convincing her doctors that she was finally cured at the age of 16. Upon her release her first order of business was to dye her hair brown (the color of Patricia's) and slit her wrists in Patricia's bathroom. After her death she used her ability to possess her sister, taking revenge by controlling Patricia's body while she was trapped in it. After dying her hair blond and convincing everyone that Patricia had killed herself, not her, Violet proceeded to live her life with her younger twin trapped in her own body.
Because she was betrayed by her twin at a young age, Violet has very strong trust issues. Though her ability is strong and she can keep control most of the time, occasionally Patricia regains control again--usually during times when Violet is stressed or distracted--and the tell-tale sign is that her hair darkens to become brunette. But 9/10 times, Violet regains control quickly enough and mentally punishes her sister, who has become a very bitter, and legitimately insane spirit trapped in her own body.
Recently moved from Boston to D.C., by day Violet is a tattoo artist at Vince's shop, and by night she's a thief-for-hire. She is not shy about telling people she can see ghosts, though only a few people are aware of Patricia. Violet's occult reputation is also a bit shady in that she's been known to con people rather than actually solve their problems, but it's difficult to tell when she is doing so because she's so good at bluffing.

BOSSMAN: Violet works at Vince's shop. Like most everyone she calls a friend, he's aware of her ability to see ghosts, and sometimes occult costumers stop by the shop to ask for her help. Vince is one of maybe two or three people who know what she did to Patricia and appreciates why.
TEACHER'S PET: Travis taught Violet everything she knows about being a thief/conning people, and to this day she uses the skills he taught as well as her abilities to screw people over. Because of his inability to touch people, she has teased him shamelessly--almost to the point of being downright mean at times--and will look him up in DC.
HER MARINE: Though Violet originally invited James to move in with her to have someone to pick fights with, it quickly became apparent to both of them how broken they each were. Using each other as a crutch was fine and everything, but eventually led to real emotions and a change of heart on her part. She is now making an effort to have a real relationship with him, versus using him as a coping mechanism to ignore her sister.
